Machine I/O

MACHINE I/O is the screen to open when the machine refuses something and nothing on the program explains it: a cycle that will not start, a tool changer that stops half way, a probe that never arms.

The MACHINE I/O screen: grouped panels of outputs and inputs for spindle and fluids, tool changer, safety and services, operator panel, probe and MPG, each point showing two lamps, and a PLC state panel listing axes, channel, ATC, spindle and E-stop errors.

Every point shows both:

LampIs
PHYthe terminal itself, what the wire is doing
LOGICwhat the machine logic makes of it

That pairing is the whole point of the screen. A door switch that reads PHY on and LOGIC off is mapped or inverted wrongly; one that reads off on both is a switch, a wire or a fuse. Nothing else on the machine separates those two faults.

A normally-closed input reads on when nothing is wrong. E-stop and reset are wired that way: their lamps go out when the button is pressed. An operator expecting the opposite reads a healthy machine as a broken one.

Nothing on this screen switches anything. Reading a point down the phone to whoever is fixing the machine is what it is for.
